This is a letter sent to us from
Michael Osbaldeston | Partnership Director of the World Skills team
Dear
Amy,
We are back in the office today having cleared all 90,000 sq m of
Excel on time! I have just watched the 3 presentations and shared them
with the team here, our chairman Chris Humphries and Deputy Chairman
David Cragg at the Department of Business Innovation and Skills – and I
suspect we will share them with many more people too. They are
inspirational, and they exemplify why we made the bid back in 2006 and
why we have committed the effort we have over the past 3 years to
deliver WorldSkills London 2011 to the standard we did.
Please
say a very big Thank You to your class, and we are so pleased that
they not only enjoyed their visit but were fascinated and engaged –
their enthusiasm certainly comes across! It’s the 4th one I
have been to, and I am still amazed and moved when I see competitors
from 50 pus nations working together and striving to be the best. Eric
says the next one will be in Leipzig
and he is quite right, but hopefully one day one of your class will be
at a WorldSkills event, not watching but representing their country as a
competitor.
If you’d like one of us to come down to Riversdale to listen to the children tell their story, do ask, it would be an honour to hear them.
Very best wishes,Michael
